We work with cultured plant tissue to make our White Dandelion extract. Here is a closer look at the process behind it.

White Dandelion Cell Technology™

Our patented White Dandelion culture extract is used in both Face Cream and Soo. In laboratory skin-cell studies, it increased expression of the filaggrin gene — a protein involved in the skin’s protective barrier.

What this finding tells us

The study measured FLG mRNA expression in human keratinocytes exposed to the culture extract. It helps explain the ingredient’s potential for barrier care. It did not measure the effect of using a finished product on people.

HM Barrier Lipid System™

Moisture-barrier care pairs our culture extract with supporting lipids, including Ceramide NP in Face Cream and Soo.

Botanical Antioxidant Shield™

Each formula brings its own supporting ingredients. Soo combines niacinamide with vitamin C and K derivatives for a more even-looking complexion. Face Cream includes Nilotica shea butter for rich, comfortable moisture.

Korea Dermatology Research Institute, KDRI-2022-0122. Healthy adult women, average age 47; sensitive or hypersensitive skin was excluded. Mean transepidermal water loss (TEWL) decreased from 16.90 to 13.48 g/m²/h. Mean skin moisture increased from 50.89 to 58.14 A.U.

The study found improvements in moisture-barrier function, visible redness and hydration after seven days of use.

Study details

Human Skin Clinical Trial Center, HE-R23-0168. 22 participants: 4 men and 18 women, average age 52.3. Testing took place August 16–31, 2023. Hydration increased by 15.88%, 15.11% and 13.65% at 0.5, 1.5 and 2.5 mm respectively after 7 days. The report also concluded improvements in the moisture barrier and visible redness.
